Whenever a new government is elected, emissaries from the US military-industrial complex are sent out to get signatures on new arms deals. Well, here they come:
US Defence Secretary Robert Gates will travel to Australia later this week for bilateral security talks as part of a round-the-world trip, the Pentagon said overnight...I suppose we should be flattered that we get such high-profile emissaries. Poorer nations just get economic hit-men like John Perkins.
The State Department will be represented by Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte.
